Hi again, Sorry to bother but Ive done something wrong Ive been running smooth for a few months and all of a sudden I ran into a problem with an update. I think it started around the time I updated to the new dark version software update, I had intermittent internet at the time and I was getting a few access denied messages half way through, getting knocked off randomly and not running as smooth Today I thought Ill fix this and I downloaded the newest version, I was one update behind the current version. Anyway a few things happened...it said USB not recognised, so I restarted and seemed to fix it. But now it brings up the install wizzard and license agreement each time I start the OB control with the blackbox. Any ideas of how I can fix it? Or go back two versions from the current one? Not sure what Ive done as the auto updater wouldn't appear with my dodgy internet connection
Thank, I found that I had two Control options...one was an install wizzard one and the second appeared on the bottom right which didnt install each time I started it. If I uninstall will it remember the settings for my machine? Also, ever now and again I am getting an error saying......the g code is repeated within the block...and it stops. Another thing which is happening is that all of a sudden, the machine will ignore its boundary within the piece and just shoot off to the right without stopping. Just be sure, as soon as this job finishes.... Ill go to Add Remove apps, search openbuilds and uninstall right? Im not sure how to clean up a directory or where it might be And once I install again will it remember the machine settings? I imagine it will right as the blackbox remembers that? Sorry for what may be silly questions!
Settings are stored on the controller, not the computer. See github.com/gnea/grbl/wiki to learn more See docs.openbuilds.com > blackbox > FAQ > EMI
Thanks Peter, Its fixed now, It might have been one of two things in the end.... I noticed the blackbox was showing a red light on the z axis, cables were fine, connections etc so I couldnt figure it out. I twiddled the screw to adjust it down and it seemed to have cleared. But I also noticed the screw I used to attach the blackbox to a board might have been touching the z motor cable connection, dont know if that might have caused it to mess up. Now all the lag has gone, it no longer goes off to the right and no longer gives the errors I was having. Thanks again! Happy new year!
Fault Indicator comes on for: - Short circuits - Undervoltage - Overcurrent - Overtemp Screw shorting wires could well have been the first, turning current down covers 3rd and 4th. Always a pleasure! And a Happy New Year as well!
