Hi Peter, I have a couple of questions, 1) is it possible that the BB32 has the motors turned so low they won't run? Yes I am checking everything as I go. 2)Also I saw your answer about "ICSP" but I have gone through every item in the 32 documentation and could find anything related to it. Help please!

If you could pass along a message to whoever it would go to. The receptacle for the flash drive would not lock in, don't know if it could be a problem of the lot or if I got the only one. something to check as a preventative action.

Are you migrating from a 4X to and X32? Did you use CONTROL to backup the 4X settings, then again use CONTROL to restore it to new one so CONTROL can make needed changes?
Our profiles and our backup tools takes the guesswork out of settings.

ICSP: where are you headed with that? That was for the atmega on a 4X for users who cause big disasters like damaging the microcontroller and doing their own SMD repairs?!

I went from BB32 to BB32. Could not backup the previous BB32 because I lost access to it.
And the ICSP was included with the BB32 so I asked what it was for whereas it was part of the BB32 package. If something is included, I thought, it must have a purpose or would not be included in the new BB32.

We used to include a TVS module with the Interface years back (no longer do as it was a retrofit for some older BlackBox 4X versions).

BlackBox X32 comes with a 3-way jumper (for retrofitting older Interfaces), and a spare Interface cable, but no "icsp"

"ICSP" is an open standard - 6-pin programming header - IE a set of pins on the PCB that a programmer tool can use to program the ATmega. Can't "include" it :) and the X32 doesn't have an ATmega anymore

You might have your names mixed up - but I would not want you working with an ICSP header (and the X32 definately does not have one) without understanding what it is. ICSP = In Circuit Serial Programming....

If you want to know about something specific and are unsure whats it's called a picture is worth a 1000 words - if you need us to help you identify something.

OK, then did you load a fresh machine profile? Motors will enable once you have a proper machine profile installed (CONTROL > Grbl Settings > Select machine from list > Save > Reset)

Once you are up and running - all calibrated and happy, remember to take a backup to avoid this happening to you in the future. Keeping backups in safe keeping is good practice to have something to fall back on

I have it all running now. Still need to calibrate, etc. I am HAPPY!

About the extra piece it says " Connect to ICSP" It came in a static protection sealed packet, included in the BB32 that i just received. So, I just throw it away?

    Sounds like our "TVS Module"

Correct, throw it away, it only applies to older Interfaces connecting to BlackBox 4X V2.3-2.6 (2019 to early 2020 versions)
You can check out docs:interface:prepare-blackbox [OpenBuilds Documentation] > 2.3-2.6 > Section (c) only for reference - does not apply to you. Odd that it was in the box, it usually ships out with Interfaces, not with the BlackBoxes.

Now that may be a point. It could have come with the interface, whereas it was not a new experience, so I unpacked both at the same time. I did open each bundle of wires and checked them completely, found a loose connection on the x-stop line. So I have no problem to bring up.

I want you to know Peter that you have been an immense help and Thank You!
