Sorry, if this has been asked before. I'm on a computer with a broken screen for the next 2 hours, so it's a bit of a challenge to operate, so i did not spend much time searching. Basically, I'm trying to carve out 4 20mm wide and 10mm deep channels in my spoil board so i can install aluminum channel in there for workpiece clamps. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but i can not get this thing to carve a 20mm wide pocket with 6.3mm bit. It carves 10mm wide no matter what i do. I changed the carving depth to 1mm for screenshot purposes and the actual XY zero is approximately 50mm X and 150mm Y on the spoil board, not the very edge What am i doing wrong?
here you go. and appreciate the quick response i copy the gcode file into the USB stick and print from the interface, if that matters
As shown in your simulation screenshot, the code is producing a 20mm wide slot. So, if the slot isnt actually 20mm after the program runs, then most likely your steps per mm are off. Have you calibrated your machine? Calibration is necessary in order for the machine to move the correct programmed distance. If not, check out the handy calibration wizards in the wizards and tool menu. If you are sure calibration is correct, then let us know and I'll pass it off to Peter for help.
It was working just fine few days ago. And I just checked X calibration. It is on point. The setup is too far from the computer and I don’t have a USB cable that long, but I’m heading to storage to find my USB-over-Ethernet thing. Will see if it’s interface related. Oh, do I need to unplug the interface from the blackbox when I use computer to control it the machine?
