Hello, I am looking for info on setting up dual Y limit switches. The rig I'm building has 2 Y motors and I wanted to have both sides to have limit switches to tram the Y axis for me. Any advice for setting that up would be appreciated, thanks.
were you able to get this to work. i purchased a new switch trying to figure out how to connect the limit switches and see if there is firmware .hex somewhere or do I need to try and create it my self. I leave my machine off when not in use and its location causing the y to become constantly out of square. I have to remember to adjust it each time of I have issues. I did a large cutting board and forgot to check it prior. I don't want to do that again. I used to have a bobs cnc which had self squaring and I can try and wire it like that. Looking for assistance before I venture out on my own. Figured I can t be the first.
Thank you, I have done it before on another machine so I think I can fumble my way through it again. Is there a wiring example on how to wire the switches. With my Bobs you wiring y1 and Z both power leads to one connector hooked to Arduino board and the connect both ground together. I just tried it and I cannot get both to read. does the power and ground make a difference in wiring. on GRBL pages says connect in parallel but that does not seem correct.
I think I got the homing switches to read properly. I moved the jumpers from Y for slave to A3/A4. I have defined dual axis homing and dual axis select y. However I can only get one motor to move. I am using the pronto 3.51 config. Im guessing a config issue but Im lost as to where it could be. Any suggestions. Been searching the internet for days
I have the 4x. I think I got the firmware complied but when I try to upload the .hex in openbuilds control it will update failed. it says connected, reset complete, flash failed. + -
Thank you , I was just thinking that I as I was driving home. Wish this would have happened yesterday, I spend two hours trying to get it to work. Ill let you know. let me look at that wiki and see the directions.
Firmware compiled and uploaded finally, not to get the coolant pump to not come on when move the y+ axis and to work with the M8 command had it working prior with the coolant output on backbox. so close
I just want to let you know, I got it figured out and it is square within .73mm when homing. It was a lot of work and I think I'm going to change out the switches for proximity sensors as these bent/flex. I moved around the connectors to get the IOT to work a different way. thank you for all of your guidance. Ill be back for more questions if the switches need work setting them up. Are there any you recommend as being easiest. also can you mix proximity and your extension switches? THANK YOU
Sn-04 NPNs work, and are documented on docs.openbuilds.com/blackbox You can mix but not min/max on the same axis Proximity sensors arent very accurate, lever switches when mounted correctly has better repeatability. If you have accuracy issues either your homing speed is too fast on the second accurate move, or you have the switch mounted in a way that contributes to inaccuracy
Ender 3 pro has issues with forward y axis when changing filament. Can an additional y axis be spliced into existing?
