So I need to build a CNC engraver with a 4th axis for engraving on cylinder shaped stainless steel objects. I need to cut to 0.05 deep and fit up to a 30” object on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you really need 4 axis? Or do you want a CNC router that has the 4th axis (rotary) capability. If you just need just rotary, I built this one and it works great. I have never tried steel, just aluminum and wood, but I can get up to about 34 inches. I could have gone longer, but did not see the need for my purposes.

If you want all four axis then just buy a rotary axis off ebay or somewhere else and add it to an existinc CNC router like the LEAD with a High Z axis.

That would probably work well for me! Thanks!
I’m a rifle maker and need something to add my manufacturing marks to the barrels. I’m tired of hand stamps.
