My first visit here, and a newby to CNC.
I am looking to purchase a controller (500W, GRBL) but it does not have any stop /start switch or speed control knob for the controller.
Can anyone please advise what CAM software to use that will allow me to do these three things? I have previously used UGS with a USB port and Chinese controller which has failed.

Thanks Alex, have never heard of Blackbox before. the price looks good. Can it run a 500W 48V DC spindle and do speed control as well as on/off controls ?

Those 500w "spindles" are extremely underpowered, terrible runout, bogs down for nothing . Get yourself a proper one:

i had one of the 500w 110VDC units and the runout is quite poor, but it did have enough power to mill aluminum.

The power supply eventually died and now I’m using a Makita 700 series with a mains relay to turn it on/off.
