Good day, I'm new to CNC. I have a machine that i upgraded from Arduino with shield to Makerbase mks dlc32. My Z travel is now way out, actual 37mm for 20 x 10mm steps. i have changed $102 from 80 all the way to 500 with little success. I'm using TMC2209 drivers...The X and Y are correct
Hi, When you say Do you mean it moved 37mm when it should have moved 200mm? What value of $102 gave you that? Alternatively: What pitch is your Z leadcrew? What microstep setting are you using for Z? Is the Z motor directly driving the leadscrew?
Being weaker 3D printer drivers it might just be too weak for the Z axis, or microstepping set too high (higher microstep = lower torque). Might have to dial down acceleration/max rate perhaps too
I would turn down the maxrate and acceleration and then run the calibration wizard note that the math is simple and explained in various resources like this one so if the wizard cannot work for you you can still do it all with a pocket calculator
