I have an R7 with the 800w water cooled spindle with a NowForever control box. I am currently using a TinyG controller. What do I need to be able to control spindle speed and direction with the Blackbox? Do I need an external board or will the Blackbox control the speed and direction? Is there a canned setup available for the R7? What is the difference between the 8 bit and the 32 bit boxes, other than the obvious bit difference? With only a $20 difference in price, is there some reason to buy 8 bit over 32 bit?
The 32 bit version allows for a 4th independent axis such as a rotary axis. If building a laser, the 32bit would be better for rastering images where large amounts of data are being sent. Here is info regarding a spindle/VFD combo. docs:blackbox-4x:connect-vfd [OpenBuilds Documentation] and 32 bit docs:blackbox-x32:connect-vfd [OpenBuilds Documentation]
