Leads 1010. I keep getting a hard limit triggered and I don't know how to fix it. I slowed down my passes still does it. I turned off dust extrusion still does it. What am I doing wrong. I flashed everything so i have everything updated also. All my wires are separated to avoid any issues with EMI. I'm using a makita router and only cut wook.

the switches looks good not damaged and i would rather fix the issue then use a work around. when my dust collection not hooked up what would cause the emi? I'm using the wire and switches that was supplied with the leads 1010. my router is a Makita and ferrite core already attached.
i had my blackbox x32 since JAN of 2023m attached is the file i was trying to run but it happens on everything now
@Peter Van Der Walt, Adam's issues have been the subject of a lengthy discussion on the Openbuilds Facebook group. He has been getting false hard limit alarms with router and dust extraction off if I understood him correctly. I've suggested thoroughly checking limit switch wiring and asked (@Adam Jelinek!! - here would be good) for his grbl settings as he has also just started getting stepper driver shutdown indications on his blackbox X32. I've also asked him to check for any shorts on his stepper motor wiring. Adam please confirm that you have checked the things I asked you to so the experts (like Peter) here know what has been eliminated. Alex.

when i was having issues the first time i cleaned up my wires so my power wires are away from my switch wires. Ran a test with my shop vac on and it hard limit shortly after starting to cut. Reset ran it with the vac off and it ran fine. I then did a 3 test with the vac on again and it ran again no issues. Now my vac isn't grounded but I will be doing that. I ran my program again today and I had a hard limit triggered. I reset removed the bit and ran it again with everything running. Router and vac and it never had a hard limit issue. i haven't run it with the router off completely forgot about that test. i just got finished checked all my cord. i used an multimeter and ohms to check for any shorts. i found no shorts in the motor or limit switch cords.. i also rearranged my motor, limit switch and usb so the dont have a chance to be near the router cord or any thing else. my shop vac is completely removed until i get it grounded

i just tried to run my machine again and it ran with no issues. i was going to run it with the router off but i wanted to run it once with the router on and it ran. no dust collection, all i did for changed was check for shorts in all my lines and reroute them so there further away from bigger power lines.
You did perform step 7.1 (Firmware update) per the BlackBox X32 documentation during initial setup? Grbl settings seems stock standard per our profiles, nothing obviously changed from defaults. So should be good. Always good practice docs:blackbox-x32:faq-emi [OpenBuilds Documentation]
so according to this doc you sent the stepper motor wiring shouldn't be run in the same loom as the limit switch wires. am i understanding that? correctly
thing that gets me is i never had this is issue until recently and i have had it for a year. with it running now ill keep using it as it is.. if it comes back ill come back for more help.
If they have a years wear on them and not been replaced yet, I would suggest you do. It backs your argument that the issue cropped up now, after a year. What changed other than wear?
Wear is the only variable and i could replace them. Just I don't use it everyday. I use it every few weeks or months depending on my needs. And only for a few hours at a time.
Following... Same issues, Lead1010, basic Black box, R11 router. Grounded Dust collection Replaced Brushes in Router Didn't start until adding a dust Seperator to dust collection. Grounded Seperator. - still occurs. Things I have observed; Happens much more often when temps are below 65 degrees F Shop Vac as dust collection cause the issues more than my big dust collector. Shop vacs have noisy motors. Warming my shop above 65F with my propane heater adds moisture to the air, far less errors. Will continue to monitor as weather gets warmer. will be interesting to see if it still happens when summer gets here.
Pics of the setup? Hose is grounded, but used to be Earthed at vacuum side (or at least should be that way) - now theres an extra bucket between hose and vacuum, how did you handle the earthing there? Seperators have even faster moving vortex = more rubbing = more static electricity Cold air holds less moisture than warm air, so we have a lower humidity level and less water vapor in the air. With less water vapor in the air to conduct this charge away from the source, and now the source can carry a higher charge. With a higher charge, there is a greater discharge
Before the Seperator I never had the issue so I had no grounding prior. Now I have a copper wire in the hose through the separator and earth grounded at the separator. See pics. This greatly reduced the issue but didn't eliminate it. I am going to order some braded copper ground strap long enough to go all the way back to the collector itself and see if that helps. I am running plates (HDPE so that makes it even worse) all day today. if it become too much of an issue, I will remove the separator from the equation and see what happens. I'm fairly certain the separator is the primary issue, just got to figure out how to ground it all. I know my grounding is doing something because if I connect the clip while it's running I get a small electrical arc. Correct, I did a deep dive into it. Another question, 3 times now my R11 has "sputtered". Once the router shut off completely, snapping the bit during a run, twice it has shut off and came right back on. I'm using the remote relay to turn ON/OFF the router. Could this be an EMI issues as well or am I starting to lose my router?
I should have mentioned, I just replaced the bushings. In fact, now thinking about it, this didn't occur until after replacing them. I posted a pic in a different thread, when I replaced them, one was worn twice as much as the other. Don't know if that is normal.
