LEAD 1010, Having always so far cut /milled wood I have a project to cut .080 aluminum plate. I used a 1/4" flat end mill and on the conservative side I set up the cut with a roughing pass/finishing pass and 3 step downs. I set the DeWalt router to its lowest RPM and got after it Failure., I think the end mill was too dull and it acted like a drill pulling the Z axis down through the part into the spoil board, this also caused the Y axis to go out of parallel If I am correct how do I realign the Router and get it squared up? Thank you in advance.
I have always jogged all the way to the front of the machine and made both sides touch the front beam. My machine was built square so I know if I bring both sides forward like this, it squares it up.
Unplug Y motors (wiring) Spin leadscrews by hand until somewhat square Replug wires Jog into the ends to square relative to base (Check base is square Tramming: A generic guideline just in case though)
