so i just put the black box setup on my 6090 cnc. everything worked just fine. after crashing 2 of the 3 switches because i was not aware of turning on a button i had to buy 2 more and replaced them. i now have 2 switches that are permanently triggered on the screen that shows that. i can flick the switches and you can see it change on my screen but why wont they un trigger for a lack of a better term.
because the switches have 3 terminals and you used the wrong 2 (-: typically there is a 'common' terminal and a Normally Closed (opens when button pressed) and a Normally Open (closes when button pressed) looks like you connected to the wrong one. The X32 defaults to using Normally Closed, but you may have changed that in the settings, so only you know what you really need to connect to. Normally Closed is preferred, since this will indicate a fault of a wire comes off, and is also much more EMI resistant.
i think im gonna go with a setting got messed up somewhere. i checked 3 times that i was wiring them right when i put them on the machine in the first place, at one point they worked perfectly until i tried to home it and smashed them up. i know i did have some setting issues after i flashed the box to a true 4 axis profile. maybe that happened. ill take a look at it when i got a few minutes next time im in the shop.
Did you follow the advice on the flashing tool? If so, refer to the Backup you took before reflashing, and compare settings. Possibly you have $5 set differently (Should be $5=0 for all NC switches, and $5=7 for all NO switches 1=X, 2=Y, 4=Z - 1+2+4=7 - can do other combos with the bitmask if all the switches arent wired the same NO vs NC)
i did not. i didnt have anything to backup. i got the hardware setup on my cnc and then after installing the control i checked everything worked and moved the way it needed to and had to email openbuilds to find out how to get it setup to a 4 axis operation. so i didnt have all these custom settings and stuff to save.
ill make sure to check all these. they are all wired the same. are openbuilds switches considered open or closed.
Ahh if its our switches, refer its relevant page in the docs docs:blackbox-x32:connect-xtension-limit [OpenBuilds Documentation]
yeah peter i bought the cnc electronics kit from you guys. its put on a 6090 Chinese cnc machine. later today ill check that line in the settings. thank you for your help.
Forum staff doesn't have access to store records, so good practise to let us know Seeing a non-OpenBuilds CNC in the first post I think we all assumed you'd be struggling with the old parts. Rare that people do make the good choice to go for the bundle and have the good accesories too
yeah i was having a handful of issues with the machine and ive been looking at your cnc kit for a while. finally had some extra cash so i bought it. some of the best money spent getting this machine to run and operate how i want it to. i want to build one from scratch but that will come at a later time.
finally had a little time tonight peter to monkey with my machine. that was the problem, $5 was set to 4. made the change and everything is how its suppose to be. thank you for your help.
