small files loaded into the control software work great but upon loading a 38mb file the 3d renedering creator times out with a white screen. I tried it on 2 computers and same results. If the openbuilds control software cant run larger files what can I do?
Depends on the number of GCODE lines (800k-1million is about the limit for a PC with 4GB of RAM) - Temporarilly disable the 3D view from Troubleshooting > Application diagnostics to get the job to run (3D view is just eye candy, you can run without it) - Enable smoothing in your CAM to avoid a tonne of crazy short little moves
I'm having problems trying to load a 10417 kb gcode file. It's telling me it's to large to load into editor. I've loaded much larger files in the past.lm also experiencing the machine stopping with error 24 3 to 4 times while running . I'm using vetric software. Any advice?
size: vectric must have options for increasing the smallest linelength that it will try to cut, use that to reduce file size. This will be related to tool size and stepover as well. error 24: "More than one g-code command that requires axis words found in block." This is a failure to communicate the code correctly. Could be EMI, could be related to the filesize. EMI checklist docs:blackbox-x32:faq-emi [OpenBuilds Documentation]
Correct, we just don't display it in the editor. Still loads up in 3D view and can still run it. You weren't planning on editing a 10mb file by hand anyway (hopefully not).... Loading a large file into the editor is a bad idea (slow it down for nothing, you aren't going to be doing edits on it), hand editing gcode is for small files / test runs / etc. If you need to make changes to files that huge, its going to be a Re-CAM after all. Load and Go!
