This morning I started the computer again as I have done every day for the past three years, but I cannot make a connection between the controller and the computer. This is what I do every day: I start the computer; open openbuilds control; insert the plug into the socket; turn on the machine; I hear the 7 clicks of the machine; then in control I click connect and then the machine starts and I can home the machine. This morning I do the same thing again, but as soon as I press connect in control, the program closes again after a few seconds and I cannot start control.
I have a Sphings 1000/1500mm and I have been working with it for 7 years. I have the control box x4 and it is now 4 years old.
What have I done so far: restarted the computer; started control several times; used another port (2) but no success so far. This is the message I get and I hope someone can help me.

Another addition, as always, I hear the control box fan running and all lights are yellow and no red lights can be seen. Also
power box fan is in normal operation.

    problem solved,

I restarted the computer and control again and tried to connect to openbuilds control. Like every morning, control is on com 6 and that was also the case now. When I plug my USB into the computer, it normally switches to com 3 and then connects to the control box. Not now, but when I opened the com ports in OpenBuilds Control I saw my usual COM port there and when I clicked it OpenBuilds Control opened again as usual. So the problem is solved. I hope this doesn't happen again from now on, but I now know what the solution is.

COM3 was added. Was that when you plugged in BlackBox? 6 and 7 was present in both events

Later you try to connect to COM6

    Sure its not COM3?

Could also indicate some other application has access to the port too. Close any conflicting applications.

It's all resolved. Com 3 is indeed my normal port to which the CNC blackbox connects. In the case of this morning it kept going back to com 6 and I couldn't get any further until I opened the ports in Control and there I found my normal com 3 connection. I just finished another small piece so all is well now.
