I added a rotary to my Openbuilds 1010 machine and when combining both motors on the Y1 connection on the BlackBox X32 I had to drop down $111 Y-axis maximum rate, mm/min to 1250mm/min to be able to jog smoothly. At the default rate I had before of 2500mm/min it stuttered and acted like it was binding.
Is this a normal thing to have to decrease the speed in the Y axis when running both motors on the same output or am I missing something in the GRBL settings that I should have changed that would allow it to stay at the faster speed? I feel like I have crippled the machines ability because I got used to the faster traverse speed.

    Loving my 1010 BTW!

    Thanks..
    Rick

Yes, losing the extra driver does come with a compromise, totally normal. Less total power available to the motors than if it were two drivers.

Do make sure current is properly set though, can turn it up a little docs:blackbox-x32:currentadjustment [OpenBuilds Documentation] but watch out for setting it too high (keep eye on the Fault LED, explained in 2nd half of same page)
