C-Beam XL with 65mm spindle and OpenBuilds 65mm mount. The spindle does not seem to be very sturdy. I can, with a small bit of force, move it. Other mounts I have seen tend to be thicker and cover more of the spindle. Have I missed something? What have others done?

I have considered a second mount higher on the spindle to see if that would make it sturdy enough.

Are you putting a 65mm spindle into the OpenBuilds 71mm spindle mount? If so, I would add one of these: Router Mount Adapter

That would make sense, I never thought to measure it as that is the setup that came with the used CNC. Thnax

If the used one had a Dewalt or Bosch router it should have been tight.

We never did a 65mm mount but there are knockoffs of our mount with a 65mm ID on the scaly parts of the internet.

Still for a long spindle, dual clamps one low one higher up helps a lot

It is stamped OpenBuilds. One more thing about the previous owner that makes me scratch my head, he claimed to be a robotics engineer, I am just glad he didn't build bridges. lol

Going to check with a machinist friend and see what he can build for me.

So it is a 71mm clamp, I never thought to measure it as it was together with the spindle. Printing a sleeve to adjust the size for now and either have a mount custom made or I will order a pair of 65mm mounts.

This whole tear-down and rebuilt has been an adventure, Thank you Peter and everyone else for the help.
