    Hello all

I am trying to run a vcarve toolpath on plywood and it is coming out very rough. I have it set to a flat bottom depth of .04 and have tried just a 60 degree vbit as well as using the clerance tool option, Vcarve Pro Software, but had to use a 1/16 bit as the text was pretty small. Even with that it didn't come out very clean.

The router/bit is set to run at 18k rpm and 100 in/min feed

Any thoughts on what could be happening?

I ran it on mdf and it looked great

What kind of plywood? Some just do not cut well. A down cut endmill will help to keep it from chipping out.

    Birch plywood

trying to use the v bit because the letters are too small for an end mill.

Have you tried using the V-bit without having "Flat depth" selected?
    Also, possible moisture in ply?

No because I want the flat depth look for this particular project.

If it were moisture would I see the same result using an end mill?

I would think it would be bad with any bit.
