Blackbox x32 PWM specs

    What are the electrica; specifications for the PWM output? i have looked around and cant find any

    also is it correct that the 0-10V and the PWM are the same output internally?

    Im looking to connect a spare rotrics 2.5w Laser in addition to my spindle, but it doesn't list much in the way of specs, though appears to be 12v, 3 wires

    id like to be sure what im working with so don't accidentally fry something, and can determine if i need any intermediary circuitry

    unfortunately that diagram makes assumptions that the specs are compatible, and doesn't give any information on the basis of its operation.

    and i have had that kind of assumption fry things before

    there isn't much in the way of a manual for the laser module only a couple of schematic diagrams part way down the product overview

    on that page it says "PWM is for a 12V PWM control" but as TTL is often 3.3 or 5V but can be others

    id need to know if the x32 is at least 12v tolerant on the PWM output, and its logic levels to determine if i need a level shifter

    i may have to use an oscilloscope to test it but id prefer to avoid that

    TTL is 5V.

    Do you mean this schematic?

    If so, it converts a logic level signal on PD14 to a low side drive signal on P2 pin2.

    Assuming that the LASER module plugs into P2, it would expect an 'open collector' drive on PWM and a 12V supply.

    The BB32 outputs a logic level signal (3.3V I believe) so you would need to recreate the relevant part of that circuit to interface your LASER module with the BB32 PWM output.

    Control which device is powered on: laser powered on, spindle powered off for laser jobs, and other way round, laser off, spindle on, for routing jobs. Simple power switches on each.

    Leave signals connected, don't try to switch signals etc, potentially dangerous.

    PWM is fed to the 0-10v converter yes, it is one output. Control the power to the different devices that share the output
