Hi Anyone have issues using lightburn with a diode laser? i have issues wit jobs stopping half way through causing me to set and restart the controller. Very frsutrating. I use LB with my co2 laser and my dedicated diode engraver and have no issues. using my cnc for the larger bed size. Some photos of console and "busy" when the cnc stops the job.
ill have a read. Works fine when i am using openbuilds software. No issues with stopping mid job or anything. Only happens when using LB
I have posted in thier forum also but arent as responsive as you. the jobs do seem to stop at the same point each time ive tried. I have the black box V1.
Try OpenBuilds CAM as a comparison, if it works with our CAM (Laser toolpaths are available in there) it rules out controller/GrblSettings etc
Did you setup lightburn per docs:software:lightburn [OpenBuilds Documentation] (just ruling it out) Console log there looks fine, got to PGM End no abnormal early stop Is your CAD file clean (not missing a segment? proper closed polylines etc) Betting if you export the gcode and run it with CONTROL it will miss that segment too (toolpath not sending issue)
Im more concerned that the machine goes into "busy" even after homing. It doesnt respond to movement unless i reset the device and do not home after. I didnt follow that guide but the settings are the same anyway. The cad file is fine, i exported the dxf and used it in open builds cam. Again the machine doesnt respond after homing.
Quick update. The LightBurn team have had me trying absolutely everything and they are struggling. I can generate gcode in Lightbrun and use CONTROL to run it and it works fine. I even tried anoher laptop and the same issue happens. Can the GRBL firmware be updated on the Black Box V1?
Hasn't been any new Grbl releases since 2019 so nothing newer to update to Proving that Grbl and a well implemented Grbl compatible host works fine. So issue somewhere in LightBURNs comms code even if they won't admit it. Best solution for now then to use CONTROL as the host.
