This is probably a dumb question, but I am setting up my new custom plasma table using the Openbuilds control software and a blackbox 32 controller. I can't seem to find where I input the custom bed size under setting up a custom machine. Where is it exactly?

You enter in your X, Y, and Z maximums in the GRBL Settings then save them. On a custom machine, you may have to home it, then jog to all the furthest points from home and write them down to get them. Then enter those into the $130, $131, and $132 settings. Grbl v1.1 Configuration

If you use OpenBuilds CAM to generate your Gcose, there is a screen to enter your custom dimensions for using that program.

Just to add a detail to @Giarc's post - jog as far away from the back, right, up corner of the machine's workspace to find the dimensions of each axis.
Personally, I consider the back, right, up corner as the home position but others might think it's where their homing switches are.

Just curiuos if anyone else sets the max size of thier frame like above, and not have limit switches? I have done this and it never runs into frame.

Grbl always sets a home position. Without running the homing sequence it will set a home position in it's start up position. Link below explains why a home position is desirable and how to set one if you don't have switches.

    How to 'Fake the home'

@Alex Chambers , Thanks for the reply. I have Home and some other positions saved in the move tab. Works very well for me. I was not sure if the way I do it is common and if I am doing it wrong.

Note. Thats save positions. Not home. Homing = machine coordinates in G53. Everything else is in work coordinates or offset from machine coordinates (G54-G59.1, G28, G30 etc)

It works for you because all your works and all of LightBURN is only Work coordinates

But yes proper homing is not needed but a luxury one won't go with once you learn how to properly use for jigging, job recovery, etc where repeatable real world locations matter or start using more advanced CAMs like Fusion360
