I am curious what I might need to do for a Z axis that is not travelling downward as I am have assigned it to. The material is 12mm thick (plywood) and axis is behaving like it won't drop. It will return to Z axis point zero, but in the cut wont dive and cut. It manually jogs just fine, but in operation it kinda just hovers over the area and Z axis movement isn't accurate. I appreciate the interaction I have seen in the forum. It really does help.
calibrated? use the wizard in CONTROL max rates and accelerations? if these are too high motors will make strange noises and will not go where intended, a symptom will be when 0 shifts. homed? absolutely critical to home before doing anything else, everytime the machine is used.
great. why to home Home, Fusion360 and G53 Z moves how to calibrate HOWTO Calibrate your CNC Machine for MACH3 or GRBL the wizard makes it easy, but you should know the details, knowledge is power (-: perhaps running the official Hello World will help?
