timing belts available at parts store - question

    I noticed the Openbuilds parts store has timing belts available, was just curious that after determining the belt length, how does a person close the ends, what method is used to make the ends join together, what tools would be required ?

    Usually joined to each side of the carriage it has to move:

    For example: Looped through the slots, locked in place with cable ties.
