Hi, I´m a Swedish artist and I have a problem that someone here might be able to help me with. I´m planning a project where I have to photograph a standing area that is 1 meter wide and 2 meters high. I need to photograph it piece by piece. So I need the camera to take one picture move about 2 centimeters, take a new picture, move again and so on. I want it to do it as fast as possible. I´ve been looking around for some time and I can´t find anything useful in the photography world so I thought that I would make a try here. I think I would need a standing XY gantry. I´m more into photography then into building stuff but if anyone could point me in the right direction I could find someone to help me. Many thanks/Ulf
Hello @Ulf Lundin Welcome to OPenBuilds! Sounds like a cool project you have going on there. I did a search for camera related builds and found a few that may interest you. If you find one that is close to the one your wanting to build. You could post in the discussion thread and the Builder should see it. http://www.openbuilds.com/builds/diy-gopro-camera-slider.158/ http://www.openbuilds.com/builds/time-lapse-camera-rail.1307/ http://www.openbuilds.com/builds/dslr-video-slider.535/ http://www.openbuilds.com/builds/camera-slider-for-stacking-focus.224/ Hope this helps and please share your Build and project here, it will be great to see how it turns out. All the best with your Build Mark
This sounds like a simple arduino driven X-Y frame. How heavy will the camera be, including all attachments? Can you give us an idea of the camera's size.
Thank you for your input. I think you´re right. Like a plotter but more stable and powerful. I will use a Nikon 3Ds and it will weigh 1,5 - 2 kg including the lens and then I´ll guess I need some kind of ball head.
