As soon as I'm happy that they work and are of good enough quality, "I'm picky lol" I will offer the plates.
I think the main thing will be the shipping but will see what the final weight is :)

Robert - I appears from your pictures that the files are on Sketchup. Can you make your files available so the rest of us can piggy back on your fantastic work.

    Absolutely!
kram242 has given the go ahead and I will post the sketchup and nc files.
I use no tabs so take caution when milling.
I will post them as soon as they are assembled and tested for fit, as I did have to do some work converting things to work on my mill from Marks original files.

You have a nice CNC with a water cooled spindle, Do you think the OX can be that good, cutting Alum ? Can't wait to see more on your build. Keep up the good work. Inspiring.

I got my hands on a copy of the model file as you see pictured in his build and pulled it apart by editing the components.
I was asked to keep it on the low as I'm sure you can understand.

Kram242 has given the go and I'm sure his files will be posted soon

After some test fits of the hardware I have found that the holes are machined so close to spec in relation to the diameter of the screws and eccentric spacers that about .01 needs to be added to my files.

I will make the adjustments and mill a second set of plates "sorry spoken for" :)

If the new set works I will post the gcode and scetchup files.
With the release of my build I have had a ton of requests for production.

I have talked to the openbuilds staff and they are cool with me helping along with your builds

You must all know I'm a father of a 3 and 6 year old and have a very demanding job as an emergency generator technician.

As most of you, this is simply my hobby and love it.

I will get the plates to where I'm happy with them and then begin to offer them for fellow members.

Pricing is being worked out as I have many factors to consider.
Not here to make money rather help but can't work free.
My mill is no where near perfect but I would say it does the job ;)

    Milling went as planned :D

I will upload my sketchup files ASAP
Please note again I mill with no tabs so you may want to add some in the drawing before generating your g-code

Milling of plate sets will be done while I work on this build

Thanks for sharing! i see the files, are there other files available with the dimensions and measurements, also what is the thickness of the aluminum pieces, that way i can order longer bolts for the v wheels, etc.

    The aluminum is 1/4"
    24x24 sheet should do
If you would like dimensions look to Kram242's OX build files as that is where I got my info for the plates, I just added my own touches and adjusted the hole sizing for my liking :)

    Ty bud ;)
Thought it would look sweet with the AI plates, deff happy with the outcome :D

It's coming along real nice, I designed them to be cut from 1/2" HDPE so it would multi task as a motor spacer, couple sheild and vibration isolator ;)

Hmmm I'm wondering if I'm doing the correct thing.. I've downloaded sketchup and added the phlatboyz plugins, opened the plates in sketchup toggled the generate gcode, BAM! The file gets saved in a folder. Opened up the grbl controller 3.5, opened one of the plate files and WOW the code is there.. I have all 4 plates as cnc files. Only thing is.... Lol I have no cnc machine to mill my plates!!! This is my first build.. Trying to find all the hardware, piece together all the software, trying to see if I can finish this puzzle!!! Doing this all by reading this forums, THANKS GUYS..

Great to hear that your able to follow the workflow and get the plates coded! Like Tweakie say you are already ahead of the game with learning the software side of things.
    Keep up the good work

    Sounds about right :)
We all start somewhere and learning the software first is smart, it would suck to have a cnc but not be able to make anything
