I am trying to design a 4x4 ox, and was planning on doubling the C-Beam to create an I-Beam. The C-Beams would be bolted together in 4 or 5 locations to create a "solid" beam. 1500mm C-Beams would be used to allow room for gantry, clamping, etc. Thoughts? or Experience? I've searched the forums, but didn't see anything like this. Yeah just an idea and incorporated some of the already used belt and pulley arrangements. In comparison to bolting standard 20x80 profiles together, the bolting procedure is going to be the same as in a standard ox. And giving the same arrangement 4 extra 45degree angles will at minimum improve strength 4 fold. So it's a great idea.
