Fairly certain you forgot to post my favorite pic of your build! You know, the pic you sent me when you had that feeling of 'yup this just got real'. I wish ya the best of luck buddy. Now if I can just finish up my delta.six build (**** kids).

Really interested in how that spindle works out for you.

How big is the table you have the CNC machine mounted on. As a former machine design engineer for Ferguson Machine, I found that when I reinforced the weakest part of a machine that flexed in reaction to cutting forces, the deflection just moved to the next weaker part. Since you have stiffened the Y-axis rails, do you think that the gantry plates will be the next part to flex?

The water-cooled spindle should get you a reduction in machine cutting noise. Best of luck.

The table it is sitting on is 6' L x 5' W x 30-1/2" T. Thinking about the build I did consider that there might be some flex in the Y gantry plates. My plan is to add a second set of plates in the future and basically have it setup similar to the Z gantry. I also considered doubling up the X axis rails. Any ideas would definitely be helpful though if you got any. Cheers!

Thats what I thought as well. It is a very quiet running spindle. Haven't tested it under cutting load yet. I think it will do the job. Cheers!

Still needs the belts, acme, and corner 5-hole 90º plates....

In working with machine deflection, I normally put instruments on the machines at rest and as they are cutting, and record the deflections for comparisons with the results of any reinforcements that I might do. You have to have a deflection goal in mind and when you attain it - quit. There will always be deflection under load, you can't eliminate it. The smallest it can be is when your instruments no longer show any significant difference between the machine's loaded and unloaded state. That only means that the deflection there is has been reduced to insignificance, not that it has been eliminated! Suggest starting measurements and keeping records. Then you can see the material cost per thousandth of an inch that the improvements require. Many times, it's not worth the extra expense.

Hey, when you post your 3d printer build and show your progress, then I will be more motivated to get mine built. Until then, shut your pie hole...

I have 425oz nema 23s, but they have a 10mm shaft. I assumed that there wouldn't be enough material left. Would a 32 tooth work for my setup? If so, what kind of changes would I have to make in my settings If I went with a 32tooth?

B&B has a 24T with 5/8" hub which could easily be drilled to 10mm. But as they make what they sell and have no problems with custom work, you could probably just have them make some 20's with a larger hub and a 10mm hole.

I am looking at starting a 48 x 48 machine very soon... Did you cut the plates on 48x48 OX thread? How stiff does everthing feel?

I am wanting to build a 8' long x 4' wide machine cutting area. Any ideas how I can gang the 1500mm L x 80mm H tubes to eliminate deflection to a manageable level?

I see someone created a splicer to be able to bond two aluminum rails together to make a longer rail, so I can get the length, now I just wonder about the deflection.

They're all over the net. Google water cooled spindle. or Chinese spindle motor.
The gray HY vfds that a lot of packages have aren't the greatest.
You'll likely be better off in the long run finding a used Allen Bradley or a good Lenze on eBay.
