How do you mount a plate to the other side? I see in one of the examples there in a second mounting plate on the gantry to allow the mounting of a "Z" axis. Do you use longer screws through the rollers to the second plate. If so do the eccentric cams still work? I want to mount a 500mm C-Beam kit for my "Z"
Yes, you use a longer screw but you also need a 2nd eccentric on the opposite side of the wheel into the second plate. Both eccentrics will need to be set to match each other and adjusted together as needed.
Not trying to sound off handed, but that's not an answer. I still don't know what length screw is used to install one on a single plate, so how could I work out the length needed. I'll buy 40mm screws and cut them.
It was not intended to be an answer as I am not entirely sure what your final build up will be comprised of. But assuming you are using (2) 3mm plates, (2) 1/4" shims, (1) 11 mm wheel, and (1) 5mm nut that comes out to a grand total of..... 34.7 mm.
