What would you say the current cost of the OX Metal, which looks very cool by the way would work out too?

My machine cost around $1500USD but that includes shipping to NZ which isn't cheap. So if you live in the USA you'll save a bit off that price!

Is there a list of files for the 3D Printed pieces that were made for the build?

Great videos. I have a openbuild machine and the builder didn't add the limit switches. I've watched your videos on this and have a couple of questions. To get the GRBL to know that the switches are installed, and react correctly when hitting one, do you JUST change $21 to 1, or are there other steps? Once the switches are installed and GRBL knows that they are there, is the home feature automatic? I'm using Bcnc with a Raspberry Pi3.

I was also thinking of using the Makita 701, are you using 1/8" bits also?

    Thanks.

I really like this CNC Router and I would be interested in building one to make wakeboards and kiteboards on. In order to do this I would need to make it bigger. The wooden core/blank for a wakeboard is about 160cm x 55cm with the max wakeboard size being cut out being about 144cm x 43cm. After doing a quick google search I noticed that 8mm ACME rod only comes in lengths up to 1m. Is it still possible to build one to the size I want and still use rods and not belts? Im in Australia.

    Hi Thunderbird,
You might be able to get ballscrews 150cm long. Take a look at 1604/1605/1610 ballscrews from China on Aliexpress.
    Cheers

Thanks for posting the video and 3D printing files. I have almost completed my very own OX metal router. I used ABS with 100% infill for printing cause it what I had around. I had a blast building it and probably watched your video 20 times through out the build. Going to take outside and test it soon, waiting for couple of other parts to ship. All the best!

Hi! like the looks of this build. Can you please tell us which plates we need for the carriage and gantry? The link in the parts list just goes to the general category for OX CNC plates on eBay and none say they're for the carriage.

    Thanks!

They appear to be the standard Ox plates with a couple of additional holes drilled in them. See 3:25 of the complete build video.

Also all V-Rail appears to be back in stock in the store, although I ordered mine from a Canadian distributor.

Excellent DIY videos. I am planning on building one. One thing I was interested to know was the accuracy and repeatability of this machine. Any thoughts on that? Also I would like to get the 3D parts, any link for that? Thank you

Yes they are. Click on the "Thing Files" tab, then download the .rar file and unzip. I just downloaded them again to test it.

Thx, it seems like that the 4 and 6mm files are the same. What metal plates can I use for this build. Can I download drawings to laser cut the metal parts?

It uses the standard Ox plates with a couple additional holes drilled in them. Available through the build log "Files and Drawings" tab here: OpenBuilds OX CNC Machine
