I consider this a hack so here's the question: thoughts? 28X28CM 600W@120V KEENOVO Silicone Heater Cube 3D Printer Heated Bed Plate Pad | eBay 30x30cm 750W 120V Silicone Heater Cube 3D Printer Heatbed w/Digital Control+Plug | eBay (besides their size, of course, we would need them at 15cmsq )=
Perhaps worth adding to the TODo list: - Disable the "call home" routine to activate the Cube3 printer ?? Not sure how much longer will 3Dsystems hold "support" to this now that there's an easy solution to NOT buy their (EXPENSIVE!) filaments anymore...
Heated bed +1. I've been eyeing those similar silicone ones on Ebay. I've also been thinking about designing an enclosure. I have a large vacuum former to get the job done.
Dude, haven't you noticed that their color selection of PLA is getting trimmed to the bone? They saw this hack coming "...we forgot to lock what?"
Okay, watchdog features protecting users from themselves Hardware question... Those half-moon metal tabs: Is there a powerful magnet activated when the printer is in use to make sure the cartridge holds in place? I've noticed how hard it is to remove (unclip) a cartridge when it is busy printing. And there is a reason I ask... If indeed they are providing serious power to a magnet to keep people from pulling the cartridge mid-print, it could provide power to a bed heater instead.
Of course not. They are going to need the Cube|Pro to backfill their losses. And since the Cube 3 is a Cube|Pro Jr., they pretty much threw their entire big boy to the world en-mass, and seriously discounted to boot. By all rights, they should unlock the filament if they plan to discontinue providing materials. Even their poor quality material is a good enough reason to release the lock. As long as this feels like a thorn to 3D Systems, they are not going to give nothing away.
Hello Everyone, Like bolsoncerrado said we need to get the activation algo for this printers. Please can everyone send me a PM with their Serialnumber and their activation key. I will try to calculate the algo.
Where would we retrieve these, I bought mine used and pre-activated? Also, for the other printers mentioned in the firmware, can the firmware for them be patched as well? I have a Ekocycle, Cube 2, and the Cube 3, all but the Cube 3 as donations to my robotics team.
It is possible to do the same for the Ekocyle because it is actually the same Cube3 printer. I dont know if it can be done for a Cube 2. The activation code can be obtained from 3dsystems. If you have a preactivated one you can ask for the activation key. The non activated Printers have to be activated by using the activation service from 3dsystems on their homepage.
Hmmm is any1 able to retrieve such from Cubify web? I'm taken to non existant urls or to nonexistan email accounts in their db! :?!?!
It is working for me. You go here Cube 3D Printer | Activate | 3D Systems Login and put your serialnumber in. If it is activated with your own account it will tell you the activation code if not it will tell you to contact support under: [email protected]
I can log in there but when I want to check my currently activated products by clicking ACCOUNT on the uper right, it redirects me to: Log in to Cubify and message "Looks like your session expired. Please try logging in again." pops in :?? over and over
OK just tried on a different browser. I can get now to ACCOUNT but I have "no activated devices",....funny bc i already did with one of their Sense scanners and a cube3 :???
Patcher Release Notes: v1.11 - Removed MaterialCode verification (e.g. Print ABS files with PLA Cartridge) for Cubepro Firmware
Yet another request/todo: - Relax detection of the stock bed so we can replace it at our will and still be able to calibrate it
STOP, STOP, STOP!!!!!! Eychei This might not be such a good idea to post acct, serial number and activate key on a public site. Let's setup a private account (gmail)? to share sensitive information them delete that account. There are now well over a 1000 people watching this thread. G70
Hi there.. just flashed and now getting an error: 0x1020008 : ABS material not present on <printer name> Nothing fancy here, using a file I successfully printed previously in PLA. Using Cube Print 4.03 and sending over wireless. Machine reports spools correctly, as PLA. I also dragged the material in Cube Print onto the print to make sure PLA was selected for it. Touch screen reports print file requires ABS, when using USB. It successfully prints in PLA on stock firmware 1.14B. Followed directions v1.14B.ar D/L'd then patched and flashed. Using both your v1.1 and v1.1.1 Cube 3d 3rd gen white. Available to help test if you need me.
