Im looking for some advice on how to mount a tripod, with 1/4 mounting screw to each end of a 20x60 linear v slot rail. I don't want to have to drill the rail and tap it. would love to be able to center the tripods in the middle channel of the rail some how.
Yes, I was thinking something like this might work. 13054 But im not sure if it will fit down the groove of the vslot rail from open builds.

Those won't work because of dimension H. The flat 1/4-20 t-nuts should work if you shave hair off with a hand file. The next problem might be stud length of the tripod. You could use two 1/4-20 Allen key studs into the T. Tighten them in place. Then put a 1/4-20 coupling with a couple washers on the stud. Attach the tripods to the couplings.
Thanks for the info, i almost pulled the trigger on those slide in tnuts. Do you have links to what you are referring to? trying to get a visual. So slide in a T nut with a 1/4 thread, screw in a coupler to extend the length and then attach the tripod to that? Sounds like a solid solution.

Connect to the tripod with a common 1/4" coupling nut using the remaining adapter stud length. These also come in a double nut version with larger nuts that are easier to tighten. You will probably need to trim off a bit of the stud though as they are considerably longer. Camera Pro Tripod Mount Shoe Adapter 1/4 Inch Dual Nuts. (I'm currently working on a V-slot drill press table and these altered t-studs are the basis of the hold down system.)
