I will be attending the 2017 Midwest RepRap Festival (MRRF) with a small team of printer enthusiasts with a goal to fully assemble a Core-XY D-bot onsite during the event. This is our first attempt at building a D-bot and we will be learning things as we go. Our hope is to have the entire machine assembled, wired, and functional (at least to the setup and testing phase) before the end of the show. Please attend and watch us in person or visit our feed channel during/after the event.

    What a cool Idea, Will there be a live stream for us to tune into? Also if you have not already check out Russ Gries from rwg research and his filament extruder / winder build.

    There may be a live feed. We have a web cam on our BBP 1S board we are going to attempt to use. It can send a feed, just need to test it on site.

    Nice. Jetguy and myself will try and stop by. We have built a few corexy machines and could definitely give some pointers if needed.

    For live build, a YouTube channel now exists for those not attending the MRRF 2017, but that would like to watch. DreD Bot

    Everyone at OpenBuilds and the community - thanks for the support, the sponsorships, and for showing up to the build in person or on stream. We overall had a good time and a successful build. The staff at MRRF cut our build short by about 1 hour so they could begin clean up, so we didn't finish the wiring to turn it on during the show. I did post a follow-up video last night showing that we now have the machine properly homing and heating. We just need to do some debugging on the extruder motor settings and try out the heated bed before starting our first test print. Look for more updates/posts on the project page soon.
