Hi there, On eBay I ordered 4 x DQ542MA drivers. Today the postman have brought me the package but was surprised that they have send me DM542 drivers ! Can someone explain me what the big difference between the two types of drivers is and if it is better to keep them or not, so I can decide if I will complain at the seller or not. I have 4 x Nema23 Wantai stepper motors 425oz-in,3N.m WT57STH115-4204A Thanks in advanced Regards, Benny
Hi The DM542 was originally a Leadshine product. How much did you pay if I may ask? Original leadshine's would be over $50 each. If significantly less, bet you got some no-name chinese clone that just capatilizes off the often searched Leadshine model number (their old favourite tactic) There are several manufacturers that make 542 derivitives off the original Leadshine form factor. The *42 usually denotes a 4.2A current capability. If you'd like, post some pics of them and I'll try see if they look dodgy (return and get some DQ542MA Stepper Motor Driver ) or genuine (in which case i'd keep em)
Hello Peter, It seems that the drivers come from the company ACT Motor. ( DM542 two-phase hybrid stepping motor driver ) The description of the DQ542MA Wantai Motor Drivers that I ordered is completely identical like those drivers they have sent me (DM542). Beside the description, on the outside, both type of drivers are identically. I known the whole Kit is from Chinese origin, for the 4 x Nema23 Wantai stepper motors 425oz + 2 x 36V power supply's and 4 x Motor Drivers I paid 229 EURO + 20 EURO Transport from Germany to Belgium.
