Or try removing one file at a time from the SD drive. This can force an update. Just please copy the files first. There are at least 2 .bin files in the root that are likely unique to your motherboard.
craigslist good news the problems so far are very minor i have a clogged filment tube and a fuse was needed and i got a ton of wood filament ( like 20 boxes) but none of the printers had the hot end for wood so i can see how that backfired.. i did learn if you do a factory reset you have to call 3d systems to get the activation code
anybody know what tells the mainboard what the correct serial number is i suspect its a file on the sd card.
it took some trial and error and i took a known good SD card and copy and deleted files until i was able to get the SD card from another machine to work. What i found out is its one of the 3 bin files but I have no idea what i need to do to open them so i can write in my own serial number Notepad++ just showed gibberish
Just flashed mine, IT WORKS!!!!! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!! I love this little printer, but the cartridges were getting ridiculous!!!
I have noticed that I am having "spider web" issues with my bulk PLA. Is there a way to back the temp off just a bit? Its not a terrible thing, and a bit of sanding usually gets rid of them. Just gets annoying after awhile. Does anyone have a answer or suggestion?
Give my program a try. I assume your using CubePrint, which is what it's made for. HOW TO Cube Print Temperature Modifier *beta*
terrific mod! 3DLABPRINTS has a few very nice RC airplane files for purchase I've bought a couple and the print quality is outstanding with my cube 3 and cheap Shaxon clear PLA from frys Only problem is the STL files have to go through Cubify to load to printer, when it does one of 3 levels of "FILL PATTERN" is required which double/tripples the weight-not gonna fly! Thin wall printing without additional supports is whats needed. Played with Cura custom printer infill settings("0" and even closed the "infill"box)- still fills in with cross ,diamond or honeycomb-connot uncheck this feature Is there a simple fix for this or is it in the code that would have to be removed? Thanks in advance! Jake
Qube pro duo Printing already with Z-filament for the last 3hours i cant describe how happy i am If someone try it just make sure that the Cartridge you have from Qube is up to 90% before you hack it.... Thank you Guys!!! amazing Job !!!! otherwise the material will never be enough for big printings ....
Hey guys, I didn't see this asked. We have a Cube Pro Trio with the hacked firmware installed and only one Black ABS cart installed. Only had one cart that wasn't 0%. Anyways, ours is in a space that would get used a lot. It's been out of commision because the material was so expensive, but now with this hack users can use it again. My question is, can you swap different type of material after the hacked firmware is installed. Right now, I have black abs with 2% on the counter. I can use the touchscreen setup instructions and install a new cart? Can I install other carts in the other bays and install them? Or will I have to go to stock firmware, install the carts, then swap to hacked firmware? See we have a lot of users, and they would want to be able to use various colors and materials. So I'm wondering how cartridge swapping works after installing the hacked firmware. Now that I'm on a hacked firmware, can I just load up a different cart (that's between 0% and 100%) and go from there? Thanks in advance.
in the beginning i use a cartridge was only at 2%, so when i load another cartridge from free market my printer thought that it was 2% and the software didn't let me to start a job for 300gr, then i change a Cartridge from Qube Pro that it was 40% and everything was ok. so what the hack does ? its seeing the last original cartridge and stay there forever, if it's 2% will stay at 2% if it's 90% will stay at 90%
Hi thanks for the answer, so a 2% cart isn't the best option because it won't start a job that needs more material. That I understand. The question I had was, how do I swap carts once its been hacked. Say I have a bunch of 50% carts with varying types of material (ABS, PLA, Nylon, etc). Can I just swap them using the hacked firmware willy nilly (as long as they are not 0% or 100%) and no matter how much I swap them will they stay the same percentage?
the process is exactly the same for changing the cartridges and the printer will see always the same percentage for the specific chip. till now i have try Abs from Zortrax and the quality its very good. so i cant give you an advise for Nylon or PLA.... just try the cartridges you use to work on the same temperatures as the original
Can you provide some detail on what you did with the nozzle-end? It looks like you used the original PTFE sheath and nozzle but cut away part of the nozzle head so the filament could take a relatively smooth arc to the head (a good idea). Also, how did the extruder print work out? The CNC'd extruder seems to work well, but everything from it to the print nozzle seems problematic with filament often puncturing the sheath and/or jamming. I'd like to retrofit some cartridges with COTS PTFE tubing from the extruder to the nozzle and would love to hear from someone who has done that successfully. Thanks!
FYI, cubify has posted v2.02 firmware which is not compatible with the toolbox. Luckily I had a downloaded copy of 2.00.
I have a CubePro running 2.0, but I want to downgrade to older firmware. From what I'm reading, the older firmwares printed a bit slower but better quality. I tried patching 1.14B & E but no luck. Any help on this? Thanks.
Check out these for a cube 3: These 2 are options to replace your cartridges with a hub that lets you easily use bulk filament. THING Extruder Hub V2 - FTF (Free The Filament) THING Cube 3 Extruder HUB - KISS Method (DiY version by TommyDee) This one is a way to modify the hot end so there's ptfe tube running from the hub to the extruder. THING Cube 3 Nozzle (Hotend) Replacement
hope I'm posting in the correct forum Is there anybody here willing to part with a couple of >0% ABS chips from the gen 3 cartridge? Willing to pay of course
has anyone been able to telnet to cubepro? I saw that its enabled for the cube3. Trying to guess user name and password
Anyone knows where I can get ahold of the 2.00 firmware for the cubepro? Only 2.02 available, and the hack only works on 2.00....
Has the Codex password changed in 2.0+? I tried encoding BFB files from S3D and I get a write protect error. When i decode .cubepro files from CubePro.exe I just get jibberish. TIA!
i don't think so. You would need to change the firmware and the slicing software too. So everyone who updates would need to update both. I think you can't decode because of the preview picture which is embedded into the cubepro file with the newer version of the software. You would need to delete the part and then decode.
