hello, these are cool but are they worth the effort. i am having a very hard time soldering to these little stubs. i have ordered some jst connectors and i am going to try that (4pin - 2.5 mm space). i looked at the deutsch connectors but they were way to expensive. is there something else out there that i should look at?
I used XLR connectors, those things that are used in Microphones and other sound equipment. You can buy those with different amount of pins and they are easy enough to solder. I got myself 6 pin ones so I can connect each axises stepper and limit switches with a single plug. My electronics are not quite ready yet so I have yet to see if I get interference problems because of that.
hi viljami, i looked at those. the ones that i saw all had the same small posts as the aviation plugs. it's a shame that you can't just get 18 awg microphone cables. i would make sure that those xlr connectors can handle the power. my motors are 2.8 amps. thanks
My 6 pin XLR connectors are rated 7.5A per contact which should be more than good enough. They are frequently used for large speakers as well which draw a lot power. You could also look up Speakon connectors / cables which are specifically meant for large speaker systems.
yes, looking at these speakon and nuetrex connectors now. these might be the way to go. 10pcs 4-Pole Male Audio Cable Connector Plug Adapter for NEUTRIK NL4F Speaker | eBay
I just checked them out on UK Ebay. They look pretty good. Has anyone else has used them I wonder? I would be interested to know. Gray
