    Just skimmed over the full kit assembly manual. I like the layout of it. You guys did a an excellent job.

    I really like the led volt meter attached to the power supply. You guys did an awesome job designing the 3D printed cover for the power supply, xPro mount and the fan mount.

    Are you guys going to offer the electronic bundle by itself later on?

    I too will building a table to place my machine onto. Will you be bolting the machine to the table or just placing it on top? I am concerned that if I bolt it down then as the table shrinks and expands with the moisture in the air that it will throw the machine out of alignment. I could possibly be concerned about nothing though.

    I wasn't planning on bolting it down. The combined weight of the machine and spoiler board means its not really going to move anywhere.

    @Ryan Lock I have emailed you in regards to the revised limit switch screws

    One benefit of bolting it down is that you can get it exactly square

    Yeah got mine today, looks like it's almost idiot proof.

    Started putting the wheels together not done much else.yet.

    @Ryan Lock What is the overall width and length of a 1000x1000 screw drive machine with the steppers and power supply in place? I need to go a buy some wood to build a table so that I have somewhere to build it!

    Hi,

    We are just over half way through a batch now, which will hopefully be shipped end of next week. This will fulfill anyone's order up to and including black Friday.

    There is still a few which were from the pre-order in this batch if you ordered late on the 31/10

    I am very excited. I got my workspace cleared and ready for when it arrives, I ordered the 1500x1500 workbee. I do alot of lettering and acrylic signage. Most excited to get into woodworking aswell.

    Ordered november 6, Ryan do you think this is in the second half of the first batch.

    Ive been plotting my own cnc design and this is pretty much where I landed before starting any 3D modelling! Could you maybe post stl files of the the plates though so they can be 3D printed or maybe some drawings that are a bit more comprehensive than those on the thingiverse page so I can cad them up? Great design though.

    This is a router CNC, I don't think it's such a good idea to 3d print the plates. There is a reason they are made of, mostly, 6mm (1/4") aluminum!

    You would be in the batch we are doing now. Should be end of next week. The parts are all picked out, just aaalot of packing and boxing.


    In the zip file there is a step model of the whole machine. You should be able to extract 3D Models of the plates from this as it is a assembly.

    The plan is to use the printed plates to sloooowlyyy cut some ally plates to replace them.

    Cheers for the reply, I just figured out that i can open them in solidworks :)

    I would suggest hand cutting plywood plates instead and using them to create the aluminum plates. It will save a whole lot of print time and has a much better chance of success of cutting the aluminum. (Or you could go directly to hand cutting the aluminum plates instead. It is really not that hard.)

    Hmm thats an idea, Ill have to see if I can borrow someone's workshop though cause Im a uni student and have very limited tools. I think id rather use wood, then cnc aluminium plates to have the final thing as accurate as possible. Thanks for that.

    Aluminum is not THAT expensive so buy some square parts on eBay. You don't have to shape them, all you have to do is drill the holes as per the plate template you are thinking off. Your travel distance may be affected but you don't really mind right now since all you want to do is cut the proper plates first. This way all the tools you need is a drill and a file/sand paper.

    I cut all my plates without a cnc and drilled them with a drill press. It was a fun challenge. There is a link in the beginning that will get you to the software that allows you to make printable plate files from sketchup drawings if that will help you out. Lead Screw Driven Ox Derivative (850x1500)

    When I made the drawings for my plates, I put crosshairs on the center of each hole. Then, before drilling, I put a starter hole (dent) with a hammer and a nail so the drill bit would not slide around.

    Does any one have their workbee running yet, any pictures or videos im sure we'd all like to watch.
    I'm wondering what post processor I should use with Ventric Aspire. I use a multicam machine at work and I know I use their own branded post processor but which one should I use to most effectively operate the BEE.

    I almost have the mechanical side built.

    But I want to build a enclosure for it before I take it any further.

    The snow and cold have slowed things down a bit it's a bit to cold to spend hours in the garage :-(

    Hi Ryan,

    Whats the lead time on the Ox-Workbee conversion kits.

    I've been procrastinating way too long over the decision to 'upgrade' from a 1500 x 1000 double belted Oozenest Ox, to a 1000 x 1000 screw workbee?

    Should have taken advantage of the introductory offer and saved myself some money at the time! :-(
