Platform that travels up and down

    I have a similar problem to this thread from three years ago.

    I need to suspend a platform that is 2' x 2' about 6" off the ground and be able to raise it to 14" and lower it back down to 6". There is a 16"' tall enclosure (container) around the entire platform. I'm considering a scissor type lift or using a pneumatic cylinder lift. What are your thoughts? A drawing is attached.

    I'm wondering what would be the lightest weight material you could use in the scissor mechanism that would still be able to lift at least 300 lbs?
