I have a similar problem to this thread from three years ago. https://openbuilds.com/threads/small-scissor-lift-with-the-lead-screw.590/ I need to suspend a platform that is 2' x 2' about 6" off the ground and be able to raise it to 14" and lower it back down to 6". There is a 16"' tall enclosure (container) around the entire platform. I'm considering a scissor type lift or using a pneumatic cylinder lift. What are your thoughts? A drawing is attached.
I'm looking for something that doesn't require you to pump a foot pedal and is more of a lever similar to an office chair.
I'm wondering what would be the lightest weight material you could use in the scissor mechanism that would still be able to lift at least 300 lbs?
You could use a Linear actuator something like these 1500N 12V 4/6/8/10/12 inch Linear Actuator Adjustable Actuator Tor Opener Linear Actuator Motor Just an idea but they make these things in all kinds of flavors .
