For a beginner like me, the maze of codes can be a hard thing to imagine in CNC. But as all things, over time things that seemed to be impossible to understand, become very simple indeed. I have NOT reached that point. So I seek any thing that will help me get started in this unbelievable world of technology AKA: CNC or "Computer Numerical Control", Which of course means that EVERY thing is translated to mathematics to get the machine to do what we want it to do. And one of the things I have learned in my CNC "101" is; there MUST be a way for the machine to KNOW where the stock is at all times. And this begins with a "Home" position of the router bit. I have read and watched, but to date I had not found a way that I felt satisfied in my infant learning stage; when it came to learning CNC "Home". UNTIL a few moments ago; when I got a message that one of my favorite DIY video men had just posted his latest "ditty" on CNC. I was so intrigued by it that I commented on the video. Ha! I was just out using my roll of aluminum tape I bought 10 years ago and didn't know what to do with the leftovers until I got interested in Estlcam. I am about to cut some plates out of ABS for my laser cutter and was giving the aluminum tape a shot.
