I am using a planet cnc MK 3/4 controller on my new build. The one sold by planet cnc is rather pricey and I found one on Amazon that looks exactly the same. I didn't think it would be a big deal wiring it up to the control board until it was delivered....... and low and behold the directions, schematic, and pinouts are all in chinese. My Chinese is a little rusty. Any ideas on how to translate this info ?
You could take a chance and use the MK 3/4 docs: https://planet-cnc.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/CNCUSBControllerMk34.pdf
I'm sorry to hear you have bought a Chinese knock off. So many before you have done the same, and I'm sure many more will in the future. So, to be clear, you are not using a Planet CNC controller, but a very similar designed one. As you have found, there is a reason why these boards are so much cheaper. Maybe if you put up a picture, someone will probably be able to tell you what goes where.
When I ordered the MPG from Amazon I was well aware that it wasn't a Planet CNC pendant and I wasn't surprised that the country of manufacture was China. And, there is a schematic and wiring color codes with it......It is just in Chinese. I know there have been a lot of people having problems with knock off controller boards and that is why I bought the control board from OB. I'll take a picture tomorrow when i'm over at the shop and post it. I have located a wiring diagram for the Planet CNC pendant and i'll probably take off the back and make a diagram of mine do a little comparing. Thanx for taking an interest.
Until you provide some useful information, don't expect any useful information in return. I just checked on Amazon to try and get a better idea of what you purchased and there were easily 30 different listings to choose from. Giving us specific information on which model you purchased and showing the diagram you have is essential. More than likely what you have came from 1 of 3 or 4 different manufacturers and can easily be traced back to something useful. But without knowing where to start this thread is just wasting bandwidth.
Here is the link to the pendant on the Amazon website https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075HQ18YP/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Sorry ....Should have posted this in the original post. As soon as I figure out how to post a photo I will post one of the documentation that came with the item. Please don't tell me how to post a photo I need to slug it out and more likely remember how the next time. Thanks Rick.
Here is a photo of the info inside the box. I'm thinking if I take the back off i will me able to match the wire colors with their function.
You may find these two pages useful. MPG CNC Pulse Generator 4 Axis Pendant Handwheel & Emergency Stop for FAGOR GSK USA Stock-in Smart Remote Control from Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group How to connect and setup MPG pendant? - Planet CNC Another possibility would be CNC Pulse Generator 4 Axis MPG Pendant Handwheel & Emergency Stop, manual pulse generator for Siemens, MITSUBISHI, FANUC.etc, 5V-in Handwheel from Home Improvement on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group (The wires appear to match the planet-cnc version but the unit visually appears different than the one shown on amazon.) Can't say whether or not the adapter is still required or how to test the wiring to verify. (Electronics are not my thing.)
Gray you just gave me a hell of an idea....I live fairly close to Southern Illinois University (go Salukis) and one of my friends teaches Broadcasting there. We have a lot of Chinese students attending SIU. My old buddy can probably hook me up with a translator. Don't know why I didn't think of this right off the bat.
Won't need the translator..........Rick, you nailed it down. The Ali Express link has a diagram that matches the Chinese diagram. In fact it looks just like the MPG i have. If the wire colors match the diagram I'll be good to go. Thank you guys.
Having to use an adapter is still the wildcard in the project. If so, I will probably just build a jogging keyboard and someone will get a free pendant. lol. My goal is to be able to run the machine independently from a computer.
I know this is a old thread but here is a link to some manuals Manual pulse generator - Roundss Encoder
A big thanks to you Carl. I knew one of the folks on here would eventually post the info. Once again thanks a bunch
