I constructed the C beam plate machine following the instructions on the video. It's when i got to the software things got dicey! I finally got grbl downloaded, wired my xpro controller, power supply etc. Put in my settings as per the jpeg in grbl. Now everything is lit up, connected... When I try to move the X Y or Z axis, the z axis buzzes. It buzzes for all three! Doesn't move , just barely buzzes. The other two are quiet. The readout for the axis location changes but nothing moves. Have I left out something? I keep seeing comments about drivers? I am not much of a programmer so it wouldn't surprise me if I missed something. Any help would be nice because the cnc looks too nice just sitting there all lit up and nothing to do!!! And an additional note, all four red leds are lit,and all four go out at the same time when I try to move an axis.
Hi, If you post some pictures of your wiring set up that would be a great first step for people on the forum to help you. Have you confirmed with a meter that your power supply is outputting the correct voltage? You might also try disconnecting all but one stepper motor and see if your able to control that single motor. Just some ideas to get you started.
I'll try to post some pictures. I've already pulled the wires from each axis to see if one wasn't hanging everything up. I can't control any of them alone. I've put a volt meter on the power supply and it is 24V.
You might need to if you are not getting the proper current to your motor(s). You might check out the XPro wiki troubleshooting section: 5. Troubleshooting · Spark-Concepts/xPRO Wiki · GitHub
When I disconnect the leads to the stepper motors, I checked the voltage and every axis shows 24 volts If I re-connect the leads, the voltage drops off to 2.3. It's almost like the stepper motors are shorting out the control board.
