Some of the items I purchased were defective and one was probably damaged before it was packaged and sent to me. I contacted Open Builds through their web based contact page as well as through an email address I got from an email from TrishC. I know it's only been a few days but I haven't heard anything back from them. A few weeks back I placed an order for some items and submitted the purchase. A minute later I realized I forgot one item and quickly sent a message asking if I could add one more item, a package of screws. No response. So I placed the separate order for screws and ended up paying 6 more dollars for shipping. Yes I know it was my fault and their ordering system is automated so I was **** out of luck. But no one had the courtesy to respond. Now even with the items I messaged them about I don't expect any response. Quite frankly this really sucks. It seems they don't really care about their customers. Probably feel they don't need to since another sucker will come along.
I am really surprised no one else has ever had an issue with their customer service and I find it hard to believe that I am the only one that they haven't responded to.
Hello Sprags. The OpenBuilds Part Store responded and needed clarification in order to move forward. It appears our responses have been mapped to your spam account. Good news! Your pm to me answered their question so now they are able to take care of this right away. A message has been sent to your account here on OpenBuilds with further details. Looking forward to seeing your Build!
I had a minor issue with my order. I was aware that many times emails from businesses get directed to my spam folder so I checked there and found that message. This seems to be the case in an overwhelming majority of times someone complains about the customer service on the open forum. Maybe a statement on the the invoice suggesting people add them to their safe list or at least remind people to check their spam folder if they reach out to customer service.
It's an idea. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was "great". I have a co-worker that tells people to hear my ideas out. I have lots of them. He warns that a majority may not be that good, but he claims about 1 in 100 is a gem. He encourages people to wade through the other 99 because it will be worth their time.
It surprises me that you are having problems. When I ordered my extrusion They sent me a c-beam instead of a 40x40. I contacted them within 8 hours i had an email saying they where correcting the problem and i could keep the c-beam witch is how i ended up at my machines current design.
