Great info! I'm used to my cnc mill that has limit switches so I thought they were required. I'll order them now. Thank you again!

Hi TrishC I am haing the same issue with my 1510 I am missing 4ea. 27mm screws and 12ea. 10x5x1 Precision shims but I did receive an additional package in the mail with 48ea. Precision shims and 6ea, cable ties and 6ea 12mm screws but even with that I am still short 12ea, Shims and the 4ea, 27mm screws not sure if that package was the one to make up for the shortage? Do I need to just order the parts? I am kind of at a stand still right now.

built my workbee 1510 wired it. i think i have more drag on the long axis than i would expect, trying to get the GUI to work i found a forum link with a cbeam control software version of grbl that would run and connect but i cant jog home or run etc not sure where i declare my a axis in tandem with the Y as it was described in the assembly video. Id like it to be the X but im fine to rotate my models and run. anyone have a link to A GRBL panel applpication that works and is set for the workbee because the github files dont have a application that launches or has a executable

If I understand correctly, you are having trouble downloading and opening Grbl Panel. I did too. Here is what worked for me and others. very, very, very new to the CNC world.

Do you have a dust shoe design you like for this build? I'll be using a Dewalt router.

    Hey Guys,

I *had* some significant gantry out of square issues. See the video below. I went back through and made sure the Y axis C-beams were parallel and that my overall frame was square by using a machinist square in the corners and measuring across the diagonals. The only thing I didnt do is remove the X C-beam to make sure the cut ends were square. In the end, what I did was add a .025" stainless steel shim to one end of the X c-beam. I'm assuming this is okay. Please let me know if I should take a different approach.

Home the machine and use a ruler to measure the distance between the Y-Axis plates and the ends of the C-Beams. If the distances are not same, turn off the machine and turn the lead screw on the side that don't have the limit/homing switch so that the distances are same. I assume that the frame of the machine is square.

@jeffmorris Thank you for the assist. I'll be sure to double check everything once under power (not wired yet). However, the 1510's are belt driven. Only lead screw is on the Z.

The frame is definitely square. The video was taken with the belts loose and the wheels without preload. I've re-tension the belts and preloaded the wheels again since the shim and everything still looks good.

    so...
    If im hearing correctly...
I need 3 limit switches (optional but helpful)
I need wire for the motors?
    I need the wire track?
    USB Cable?

Anything else to have it functional?

If the distances are not same, turn off the machine and move the gantry on the side that don't have the limit/homing switch so that the distances are same.

    Hey Paul,

You might want to consider additional drop in tee nuts. The kit comes with all the ones you need, however, if you want to mount your controller or anything else down the road to the extrusions, they are nice to have. Drop In Tee Nuts

******Is there a wiring video done for the Workbee 1510? We're at that part now and a video would be extremely helpful. If so, where can we find it?

    Thanks so much!

Go to their Youtube channel here: OpenBuilds®. Click on the big red "subscribe" button on the right. Then click on the bell icon that will pop up next to the subscribe button once you subscribe.

I have no idea when they will release videos. That's why I subscribed to their channel to get notified when they do.

Keep in mind that this kit is based on the Ooznest Workbee. If you bought the Xpro, you can get an idea of whats involved in the wiring by reading their instuctions... http://ooznest.co.uk/image/data/products/WorkBeeCNC/WorkBee-Full-Kit-Assembly-Manual.pdf

There's also a wealth of information here on the forums. Just search.

I watched the wiring video and found out that there is serious safety issue.
There must be a switch and a fuse on the AC input of the power supply.
There must be E-Stop button so that you can hit it instead of trying to click on the "Stop" icon in software.
I suggest putting plastic spacers between the CNC xPro board and the plastic plate.
