I've been a bit of a Muppett and ordered my HiWin rails, but forgot to get the bolts to fit them, :banghead: although I did think I would get them with the rails. Does anybody know where I can get these particular bolts from? They will need to be 5mm so as to screw into our T-nuts. The rails are 15mm deep, counter-sunk by 7mm and the heads can be no more than 6mm to fit. Actually, the head size is the main problem. I tried drilling one out, but it is hardened steel and I'm going to get through a lot of drill bits to sort this lot out.
A point in the right direction, to somewhere in the UK, would be really appreciated, but that's not likely.
    Cheers

I would try to find the bolt at McMaster Carr in the States. They will at least give you an idea of what is out there.

Just so you know, each HiWin rail is different based on the size 15, 20, 25 series.

Just to give you the bad news, based on your measurements, I am going to guess these are Series 15 rails (15mm). Those actually use M4 Bolts, not M5.

Yes, you're right and I have got to drill them out to 5mm which isn't a problem really. :)
It's finding a bolt head which will fit into the countersink. I'm not overly worried about the length as I can cut them down if need be.
Just looked at McMaster Carr, the smallest head they show are 8mm, and they show all the rails and carriages, but not the bolts!! :banghead:

It would be easier just to get on amazon uk and order up some 20 series M4 t-nuts...

    Okay. Thanks for the point.
Done that and got some M4 bolts to go with them.

    Cheers :)

Those rails are hardened steel. Drilling probably isn't the best idea. What exact rail do you have?

I used boltdepot.com for most of the fasteners (excluding the T nuts) on my build. Everything comes bagged and labeled, very nice. You can get T nuts at tnutz.com.

McMaster has a ton of stuff but I don't like how they don't tell you what shipping is going to cost until you've already paid for it.
