Hi folks! New here and also new to CNC in general. I'm currently looking to build the Workbee 1050, but what I'd really like is something more like the 750x1000 build available from Ooznest (but here in the States).

Given that, I'm wondering what from the 1050 build kit I would need to alter? I watched the 1050 assembly videos and I think what I need to alter would be the following:
    • X Axis C-Beam
    • X Axis Lead Screw
    • X Axis Cabling
    • X-Axis Drag Chain
    • V-SlotĀ® Linear Rail - 20x40mm x 500mm (for the spoiler board)
    • Spoiler board
Has anyone here built a Workbee in this sized configuration? If so, is there a build available to review? Also, are there plans for a kit for this size?

Sounds like you've got it figured out...I wonder if there would be a cost savings to buy the 1000 x 1000 kit and just cut to size the necessary items?....(rather than buying everything separate)

You can use the 250 mm cut-offs to make an eggbot. Everybody needs one of those. :)

Best as I can see frame additions would be
    • 1000mm X Axis C-Beam (Cut to 750)
    • 1000mm 20x40 that carries the X-axis drag chain (Cut to 750)
    • 1000mm X Axis Lead Screw (Cut to 790)
    • 1500mm 20x40 cut in half for front and rear rails (2x750)
    • Additional 1000mm 20x40 bed support (Cut to 960)
    • Additional brackets, t-nuts, and screws. (Sketchup file attached so you can do a piece count.)
While the idea of cutting down the Workbee 1010 is appealing, merely adding the additional parts to the 1050 will be a bit less expensive (and in my opinion be a better machine as it has better bed support). As for the cuts, if you're not in a position to do them yourself you might make a note on the order to see if the shop will do them for you. (Maybe, maybe not depending on backlog.) There is also currently a shortage of 1500mm clear anodized (silver) 20x40 v-slot so you may have to order 2x1000mm instead and cut both to 750mm.

The other items listed were outside the kit package and would be purchased individually anyway.
