Hi! Very nice work! Did you know if these files will work with the ooznest ox machine? I am planning an upgrade using acme screws, but my concern is if these plates will work, or should i need to make any changes for the acme screws, before i cut the plates? I read all the post but i feel a little confused.

    Thank you in advance

I have seen your previous videos, and thats what i wasthinking, but i wasnt sure. Thank you DazTheGas for the respond!
Are there any chances to get the files in format dxf? Or any way i could convert the files myself? I would like to ask also if you used any spacers for the antibacklash nuts, or any other special hardware i should get except the tapping tool.

    Thank you again!

How do you attach the nut blocks? Do you screw the holes for it manually?

The Y axis is drilled and taped for M5 and the X axis has a 3d printed mount that bolts where the stepper used to be

If there are any Aussies here, can anyone tell me if they need plates milled, I am going to start milling all plate variations within the next week.

It all depends on what parts you already have.

Don't want to step on your creation day.. just seems there are no ready places here in Oz that will make plates unless they want to pay a fortune for them.

Do I need your permission just to mill them?

Well it makes me feel much better that I do have your ok.

I am a designer of many things myself and understand when people just steal ideas without asking first.

Your build is awesome Daz. No lost steps anymore.

Did the DXF files ever get uploaded? I don't know how to use the other formats.

    Thanks

I purchased the flanged bearings also, seem to be a better alternative to the other style. So that would be perfect.

I have just ordered a set of plates from Chris today and would like to start ordering other spares.

As a start can someone advise on lead screw length required for my machine which has 750mm Y rails between the existing openbuilds Ox plates and 500mm rails between the X plates

Is there a list of parts required anywhere? I read all entries in this thread but didn't notice one. I saw I will need 40mm spacers for the stepper motors. I will need 8mm flex couplings. What about the bearings and lead screw nuts?

I bought the 2 1040mm leadscrews and the 540mm lead. Both will need to be cut down.

From my calculations, you'll also need 6 bearings (688Z), 6 lock collars, 3 flex couplings, 3 anti-backlash nut blocks, and about 40 screws 5mm longer than what is in your machine currently. I haven't finished cutting my plates yet or I'd be able to tell you exactly.

I forgot about the lock nuts, probably because I have a couple hundred in my parts box. Good catch. Plus the long screws for the motor mounts, probably 60mm?

Well, if you ordered 40mm spacers they will be too short. You need the length of the spacer (40mm), the thickness of the plate (6.6mm) and the thickness of the motor mounts (5mm) plus enough to put a nut on it.

I looked at my order again and I got 35mm spacer not sure why i was thinking 40mm. So 50mm should work. plus there is wiggle room in the coupler.

    Also needs 12 20mm bolts for the X. I’m using 14mm for the Y.

Has anyone ever completed parts schedule for this upgrade, I'm aware it would vary bed size dependent but majority are common parts excluding lead screw etc. thanks in advance cant wait to upgrade mine.

Chris, are you still cutting these parts? I would like to purchase the 6 plate set if you are still cutting them.
