I have, due to circumstances beyond my control, been dragged into the 21st century and Windows 10. The pain is getting less, as time goes by, and it isn't quite as bad as I first thought it would be. Now I've disabled all it's means of reporting back to Microsoft, I feel a lot happier. However, it has had some strange effects on some of my programs and web sites. Now it may be just me doing something wrong, but I'm sure that, as I used to read down through a post, the Header Bar plus the bits about Search Forums, Watched Forums, New Posts etc, used to follow me down and was always at the top of my screen? Now I have to scroll all the way to the top before selecting New Posts! In a nut shell, is it your end, or my end?
I think it's your end (or your browser). Firefox, Win 10 Pro. Works fine, but not all browsers do relative div positioning the same. Edit: Also, I've been using Win 10 since before the free Win 7 upgrade window ran out, and I'm really liking it. I don't know how many reporting channels I have turned off, I'm pretty sure it's most of them (especially Cortana- I love you, transparent blue lady, but I won't have voice search in my house), but I also don't particularly mind vendors improving software through reporting either.
Well, what do you know? I had to reboot earlier today for another program, and Hey Presto, it works as it used to!! Would that all our problems could be solved with a reboot. Thanks to one and all.
