Has anybody had success adding a laser to a Lead or workbee? I am in the process of purchasing a CNC router and am looking at the Shapeoko 3 XXL or the Leads 1010. Leaning towards the Leads system, however an advantage the Shapeoko has is that J-Tech has a kit to add a laser engraver. This is something I would likely add on in the future, so I would like to have the option to add it if I decide to. I did a search here and didn't see much.

I brought the laser topic up in the other thread for the lead build. You note the Blackbox will work, I picked up an unused OB full setup on Ebay from some guy in Florida, it comes with the XPro V4. Will the XPro V4 support running the laser as well?
I was in a class I never knew I was going to be taking. It involved a whole lot of math. My brain was mush. I opened the page on my phone and it took an hour and a half to get to the break by the time I read it and replied. I have a feeling the unexpected physics lessons today will cause that PTSD dream (from college) where I was registered for a class I did not know about and it is too late to drop it so I am going to fail. You now the one...right? Or, am I the only one that still occasionally has that dream 30 years later?
@MaryD does this replace the Pro V4, or do you still need to get that when I order the machine? I assume if I got this, I wouldn't need to get the pro v4 also, but just wanted to check. Also, a little off topic, but how often do things get restocked in the parts store? I see the wiring kit is out of stock now.
1. Wondering if the Lightburn software is the way to go for running the Jtech 2.8 laser on the lead 1010? 2. I think I'm right in saying that the blackbox controller will work with the Jtech laser?
Just got my 1010 built and working on installing the 4.2 laser. Any input from someone already running the set up? Any information or insight would be appreciated. Thanks!
