I'm getting my Large Sphinx build buttoned up and I'm having a bit of trouble getting green lights on all my controllers. As it stands, I get 1 green light on the X axis but 3 reds on the rest. I've attached my schematic that I drew up before I put everything together. I'm wondering if it's a bad solder joint or perhaps a bad crimp onto the DuPont connectors? I'm also curious as to if my dip-switch settings are correct. I know it's a bit of a mess right now but I have to make sure I've got everything correctly wired before I finish the wire cleanup. Note that I didn't include the limit switches in the drawing, those are pretty self explanatory. They are the 6 pin connector in between the two Y axis plugs. Any help is appreciated! This photo was taken when I had the wire colors reversed. I've switched it around to match the drawing.
Unplug the Enable plug from the drivers: By default its "enabled" so unplugging the connector is a quick check if it enables. (When enabled the light is green) If it does then the Enable signal off the controller isnt working correctly (Inverted? or Wiring?)
Gave that a go, but no joy. Does my wiring schematic look correct? How about the dip switches? I did notice the first controller in the line that has +5v got considerably warm to the touch when I had the machine on for a bit. I hope I didn't damage anything with bad wiring. I'm checking continuity on my crimps as we speak. Thank you for the help!
I think I see where I might have goofed up. See, I had originally run out of green wire so I had to switch it to another color, when I ran out of that other color I just went and bought all new green wire and re crimped it. I might have been working on plans that used an old wire color. What I'm seeing on my board is that I crimped a dupont plug that went GRND,ST,DIR,EN but I wired it into the controller as GRND,DIR,ST,EN Let me switch it and see if that gives me some green lights. *EDIT Made the switch but it's still no go. I checked continuity with everything and it all checks out. Would the fact that the +5v is only getting +4.7v do anything? Also, The first controller that is connected to the +5v on the board gets REALLY hot now. What would cause that?
