Hi Guys. My real passion is breeding Tropical Fish. a breeder of over 50 years experience and with multi-tank syndrome (at one stage I had over 100 breeding aquaria) in a purpose built garden shed. Feeding live foods was once an essential part of this hobby if you like. I was cultivating all kinds of organisms to feed my charges. One of these was Drosophila melanogaster, commonly known as fruitfly. but a wingless strain or vestigial winged variety) What has all this got to do with a CNC router thread I hear you ask...well once I commissioned a guy to make me an over tank self-breeding feeding station for the flies, (holiday feeder) probably something that is better explained by reading this thread on an aquarist forum Race Drosophilia et chargeur (right click and hit translate) If you manage to get through all of that, I would like to revisit this one day. He, (back then) could only manage to cut the acrylic from 6mm which to me was too heavy and bulky not to mention costly...I would want it closer to 3mm to be a viable product with narrower openings as the maggot stage are exceptionally small. I just want to express one of my interests (amongst others) for purchasing the Workbee. I know nothing of the properties of milling acrylic comming from a wood and glass background but am willing to learn..I hope to be asking a lot more questions on this topic in the months ahead Regards C
Naw one thread is enough dont you think, otherwise, you could get lost and have to hit the search button, you wouldn't want me wandering off on my own. Kippers
