I assume folk are aware of the wave of spam we have been getting recently. Is there any malware associated with it? I can't imagine whoever's doing it thinks we are a likely market! Alex.
The "wave" is nowhere near what it used to be. There was a time we were blotting over 300 per week. Now it's down to around 10.
It is a great help if anyone Spots what is obviously SPAM, please "Report" it rather than Open it. Cheers
Will try to keep an eye on this "ripple" and do just that. Alex. Also they are posting as builds - can't report those.
Pfft.. I always open spam.. my super rich prince of a cousin in Africa keeps trying to give me money..... And at the tender old age of 43, I need to little blue pills... and I want to grow all my hair back.... Heh, in reality I do actually open all spam and malicious links and binaries.. I have an isolated lab network (running on VMWare and bare metal machine for malware that is virtualization aware)... oh.. my day job.. IT Security Specialist/Consultant Although work keeps me busy I have less time to poke around. Most of what forums see are automated bots/scripts which spam for financial reasons (click through revenue, ransomware, etc), or generic un-targeted malware to infect machines to join botnets. There are more targeted attacks, those for stealing bank/financial institution credentials, corp espionage, etc, but you generally won't see those on forum posts.
