i did a search to try and find an answer so forgive me if it’s already been covered. I fancy having a play with a laser on my Sphinx build But the one I’m looking at has just one 3 pin connector on the control board for power (12v) and pwm How would I connect this to my OB Blackbox controller?
We are working up a video a new ACRO video to show how this is done.In fact we used that same module in the video. Until it's released I can tell you that we used a 3 pin Xtension connector from the laser to the the BlackBox and to the lasers Power supply. We do this by sharing the middle pin as a ground and running two two conductor wires back. One for the laser power supply and the other for the pwm signal to the BlackBox. Perfect! Thanks for the speedy response Mark I suspected that i needed to share the ground, but needed the confirmation. What Laser are you using on the demo vid - Looks very similar to the one i'm ordering... Chris
Thank you sir glad it helped! I am using 5.5W 445nm Blue Laser Module I found on ebay. It was about 150 and so far is working nicely
Mine should be here by weekend then another learning curve begins. The only thing that concerns me with the 5.5w laser is reports of poor grayscale reproduction where as the 2.5w seems to cope better. A bit (a lot) of testing will find out if that is true Anything to show from yours?
